Headlights that slice through the city’s grey canvas command for my attention and suddenly in this unique moment the beast comes to a halt, the door is swung out in front of me. My ride is here. The Ghibli Trofeo, a figure that seems almost ethereal.
There’s a special time of light, when the sun begins to bury itself to rest from a day of complete brilliance, a time where the feeling of freedom surges through a city and its people show you they’re ready to believe in their Power! At the end of my walk as my feet land on the curb I am immersed in this very energy. A pounding sense of resilience rises throughout my being while the sunburnt skies drench the buildings around me, and then, I am hit by a familiar roar in the distance, a sound that you don’t need to stop and listen hard for although you may want to, to take it all in.
The echo of a majestic growl bounces off the buildings that line the street, as an urban beast declares domination of the road beneath. As I take my step into the Italian masterpiece I am met with the glorious red pione fiore natural leather that envelopes the interior, a colour perfectly paired with the dominant red highlights on its exterior. The driver, with a firm grip on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, wore a confident smile and the feeling of immense excitement takes over as I feel the symphony of the rumbling V8 engine through my seat, I bask in this moment before we take off and the roar of 580kw hits me like a firm beat to the chest. I look out for every reflection in the passing windows watching this regal beast accelerating through the streets, the cars contours flowed with every curve meticulously sculpted to evoke an aura of dominance.
The drivers alongside yielded out of an unspoken reverence, pedestrians paused as their busy lives halted to take witness and as we came to a stop I am met with the realisation that I have just opened the doors to a superior world, a world of power, passion and comfort. The lights turn green and the purring idle blissfully transcends into a raw growl, there are only few machines that can make a sound that tastes like freedom and while I’m harnessed by this feeling I loose myself in the road ahead without a care about where we might end because in this concrete jungle of ours, this car is the destination.

The pace that was once 60kmh has decreased significantly, as fellow enthusiasts try to elongate their view of one of the twenty-three GranTurismo Aspirato’s ever made available for both Australia and New Zealand. The unmatchable sight of the Harbour Bridge now equalled with the rare sight and sound of the ‘sharknose’ holding trident, cruising on the inside lane.
A familiar light of hope shimmers in the short distance ahead as we up-shift into gear to approach the end of the beaten track we have formally known as 2020. As we rise into the warming months of spring (my favourite season) we are hit with the blooming rebirth of Australia’s beautiful florals. As they too search for the warmer rays of light symbolising new life, regeneration, and raw beauty. It is amongst these 3 months we all find deeper meaning toward our days outside. In pursuit of the perfect route, we step into the first piece of the puzzle; the Maserati Ghibli GranLusso.
In just moments of your first sight you begin to appreciate each and every detailed plan and thought that was invested into giving this vehicle life. Painted in the sophisticated colour of Bianco Alpi and coated in infallible Italian style, this car has the power to naturally ignite the passion for luxury within anyone. Lining both sides of this quaint residential street are the browning tree trunks full of wisdom and their overgrown branches that have enveloped each other to create a ceiling of magical bliss a top of us. When driving under the decorative canopies that gracefully turn a blue sky into purple rain there is a harmonious connection between the familiar returning Jacaranda and the childhood supercar dream.
